Martine van Selm is an Associate Professor and Program Group Director in the Corporate Communication group at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR).

After studying Communication Science in Nijmegen and Aarhus, she obtained a PhD from the Radboud University Nijmegen, and was an assistant professor Communication Science and an associate professor Qualitative Research Methodology in that same university.

Her current research is on images of older workers, media debate and organizational communication about retirement age, aging workforce and intergenerational conflict. Her teaching is on qualitative research methods.
